During an exceptional demonstration, Toumai® once again showcased how robotic surgery and digital connectivity are shaping the future of specialized healthcare.
In less than six hours, two robot-assisted radical prostatectomies were successfully performed between Europe and Africa. Using a secure, ultra-low-latency network connection, surgeons were able to operate on patients remotely with the precision, control, and safety required for complex robotic surgical procedures.

The demonstration brought together two renowned urologists on two continents.
From ORSI Academy in Belgium, Prof. Youness Ahallal (Clinique du Littoral – ONCORAD GROUP, Casablanca) remotely controlled the Toumai® Surgical Robotic System to perform a radical prostatectomy on a patient in Casablanca, Morocco.
Less than six hours later, Dr. Geert De Naeyer (AZORG Aalst) was in Casablanca, where he used the same Toumai® platform to remotely perform a radical prostatectomy on a patient at AZORG Aalst in Belgium.
These two telesurgical procedures demonstrate how surgical expertise can now be shared safely across thousands of kilometers. Thanks to a secure, ultra-low-latency connection, the surgeons' movements were transmitted to the robotic system almost instantaneously, ensuring the precision, control, and reliability essential for advanced robotic surgery.
