Flexible spiral fluted drain for continuous and atraumatic surgical drainage Spiral Drain™
The Spiral Drain™ is a flexible fluted surgical drain featuring a unique spiral design that ensures continuous and effective drainage in a wide range of surgical procedures.
Thanks to its helical profile, the drain maintains capillary effect in any position and continues to drain even when subjected to traction or curved placement, reducing the risk of occlusion and tissue trauma.

Belangrijkste kenmerken
- Flat fluted drain with spiral design
- Four narrow helical drainage ducts
- Maintains capillary effect in all situations
- Works effectively in any position
- Radiopaque for easy X-ray visualization
- Available with or without atraumatic “Three Face” stainless steel trocar
How it works
The spiral shape of the drain allows total drainage along the wound track.
When clotted material blocks one drainage duct, the spiral profile provides alternative drainage routes, ensuring uninterrupted fluid evacuation.
This design prevents collapse or kinking that may occur with straight fluted drains.
Why choose Spiral Drain™
Compared to standard straight fluted or fenestrated drains, the Spiral Drain™ offers:
- Continuous drainage even in curved or stressed positioning
- Reduced risk of occlusion and kinking
- Higher drainage efficiency through multiple helical ducts
- Possibility to use a smaller drain size while maintaining high performance
Unique characteristics
- Drainage surface of 12 cm², compared to 4 cm² for standard fenestrated drains
- High patency without internal lumen reduction
- Atraumatic capillary effect along 30 cm of drainage length
- Wide range of sizes from CH 7 to CH 24
Clinical applications
The Spiral Drain™ is suitable for a wide range of procedures, including:
Plastic surgery
- Breast reconstruction and reduction
- Abdominoplasty
- Lifting procedures
General surgery
- Mastectomy
- Digestive surgery
- Laparoscopic procedures
Cardio-thoracic surgery
- Lobectomy and wedge resection
